Varèse Sarabande（以下简称VS）是一家专注于原声音乐的唱片公司，以发掘出版发行年代久远的、不易寻找的、或者之前从未公开发行过的原声音乐专辑而闻名于音乐界。VS也发行大牌配乐家未签约给大公司的新晋作品。VS的独特名字来源于法国作曲家Edgard Varèse的姓和名为Sarabande的音乐风格（一种西班牙舞曲风格）。
由Tom Null， Chris Kuchler 和 Scot W. Holton成立于1976年的VS，从一家默默无闻的独立小公司出版古典音乐和电影音乐LP，成长为今日最大的原声音乐唱片公司。2003年VS 以发行两套豪华Box Sets的方式来庆祝自己的25周岁生日。
VS现址为11846 Ventura Boulevard， Studio City， California，由执行制作人Robert Townson掌舵。酷爱电影音乐的Robert Townson已经为超过800张CD担纲了制作人。他亦是新一代配乐家，包括Harry Gregson-Williams, Brian Tyler, Marco Beltrami, John Powell ，Michael Giacchino等的强有力支持者。
VS用子品牌Varèse Vintage支撑怀旧专辑的再版发行。由具有38年音乐工业经验的制作人Cary E. Mansfield掌管。Varèse Vintage致力于抢救性保护50-70年代多种风格的流行音乐，迄今已经出版发行了超过600张专辑。

以下部分是VS发行的专辑系列介绍：
47000系列：发行于1985-1988，由执行制作人Richard Kraft and Tom Null监制。这系列大多都是收藏癖猎取的对象，特别是无条码的专辑。
70400系列：这一系列是主流系列5200+和47000系列之间的一个神秘谜团，欧洲人的命名法为什么会被VS采用？不过有意思的是470重新排序一下就是704，这可以解释为什么47000系列是从471开端。
主流5200+系列：1988年与MCA的合作使VS受益匪浅，VS不光获得了全美发行的渠道，还获得了大量再版MCA的老旧LP唱片的机会，重发行于CD上。VS接受了MCA的命名法则，以VSD作前缀，辅以数字2、3、4区别双碟、三碟装、四碟装，或者是VHV区别DVD碟装。之后随着MCA与PolyGram（宝丽金）合并组建UMG（环球音乐集团），VS 又接受了PolyGram的分类号，不过数字序列保持不变。这一时期VS也开辟了子品牌Varèse Spotlight和Varèse Vintage。
没有标题的分类号通常是由于取消或者推迟发行造成的，藏碟玩家通常会关注没有标题的分类号，从而预测他们期望的专辑的完整版配乐专辑发行的可能性。
CD Club系列：在与MCA合作开始之后，宣传已久的CD俱乐部以邮件订单的形式从1989年5月开始运营。正如CD内附的宣传卡片所说，订购者将会收到一年期的限量版预告邮件通知。第一阶段的CD俱乐部运转时间是1989-1992，很显然VS从MCA的渠道分销中受惠不浅，很多CD俱乐部的限量版专辑就是通过MCA的渠道传播的。也正是这时候，VS有机会以自己的分类号发行一些主流音乐界认为没有多少价值的原声音乐专辑。所有的CD俱乐部有手抄的序列号，限量发行1000, 1200, 1500或者2500套，以19.98美的价格销售。分类号以VCL开头，接着是两位数的年份，两位数的月份，小数点后数字表示期数。
特惠系列：有两张碟售价10.98美元，在1992年CD俱乐部停止运营的时候发行的。

大师系列：这一系列开始是因为与CD俱乐部系列有冲突，后来发展为一个全系列。这一系列代表着原声音乐的最高水平，是我们这个时代最伟大的配乐家作出的最精致的原声音乐专辑。分类号以SRS开头，意旨Special Release Series，特别发行版系列。
CD Club回归系列：在长达九年的中断之后，随着重用授权费用降低的政策，以及录音室协作授权协议的出台（Cooperative Studio Licensing），更借力于Internet的蓬勃发展，CD Club重新开张。不同于FSM重出版大录音室作品(主要是20th Century Fox)式，VS仍旧以先前的方式运营CD Club。不同的是以前是季度出版，这一系列改为每年三次出版。新分类号以VCL开头，两位月份数字，两位年份数字，和以1000开始的序列号。
Colossal Records系列：这一系列存在的时间很短(1989-1992)，分类号是受VS的欧洲代理发行公司Colossal Schallplatten的影响，以XCD开头。
Colosseum Schallplatten系列：Colosseum Schallplatten是VS的欧洲代理发行公司，从47000系列开始就代理发行VS的专辑。Colosseum Schallplatten使用JVC的技术来制造碟片，VS的标志外勾红，而VS自己生产的碟片VS标志是全黑造型。

这两套专辑分别为四碟装，选取的曲目来自VS之前发行过的原声音乐专辑，并非重新编排版，不包含歌曲。作曲家囊括范围相当广阔，各位看曲目列表就明白了。有John Williams、Hans Zimmer这样的大众情人，也有Zbigniew Presiner这类比较生疏的名字。音乐大多是相应专辑的主题旋律，总体风格趋向于积极向上，我仔细查看了一下，每部原声最多选取了一曲。就我个人而言，这两套专辑使我见识了更加广阔的原声世界，促使我去寻找一张又一张的原声专辑，对原声爱好者绝对是具有非常重大的指引作用的。
